I’ve always found the aerial shots in old TV shows fascinating, and it’s really unsettling to learn that a tragedy like this happened during one of those flights. The waters off Kaaawa Beach Park are known for being tricky, even for experienced swimmers. I can’t even imagine trying to navigate that area after a crash when disoriented and possibly injured. Does anyone know if there were any witnesses on the beach that day? It just seems like such a challenging area to scan, especially if the search efforts were done under tough conditions. It’s haunting to think how quickly the ocean can swallow up evidence and people alike.
I've been diving into old news articles lately and found some interesting tidbits about Robert VANDERKAR's case. Apparently, there were local fishermen who mentioned seeing unusual debris washing ashore a few days after the helicopter crash. Some even claimed they spotted fabric or clothing tangled in the debris. I wonder if there was ever a follow-up on these sightings or if they just got lost in the chaos of the initial search efforts. Given how challenging the ocean currents can be in that area, it's possible that any significant evidence could've drifted far from the crash site before it was ever discovered. Does anyone know if there were any additional recovery missions after those initial days?
