I'm really puzzled about the location where John was last seen. The Yellow Rose Saloon in Lomax, IL, seems like a pretty isolated place. Was this a spot he frequented, or is there any indication why he might have been there that night? Also, the fact that he was headed towards Iowa on foot is so concerning, especially since he didn't have any money or a phone with him. It just raises so many questions. Did he have a personal connection in Iowa, or was it just a random direction? I'm hoping someone comes forward soon with more information.
