I've been following Ty'nez Lloyd Durden's case ever since I first heard about it. It just breaks my heart to think about how someone so young, with such a bright future ahead, had his life tragically cut short. I can't even begin to imagine the pain his family and friends are still enduring. What really sticks with me is how this senseless violence impacted not just his loved ones, but the entire Woodlawn High School community. Ty'nez was active in so many sports; it makes you think about the void left in those teams and how his teammates must feel. They lost more than a friend; they lost a brother on the field and track. It's frustrating that there haven't been any arrests yet. I hope people in the neighborhood come forward with any information. Even the smallest detail could help the Birmingham Police Department move closer to justice for Ty’nez. Let's keep his memory alive by supporting his family and pushing for an end to the violence affecting our youth.
