I've been thinking about Kamari's case and the impact it must have had on his family and the Birmingham community. It's so senseless how a moment of reckless thrill-seeking could take away a young life with so much promise ahead. I've read that street racing has been an ongoing issue in Birmingham, but this tragedy has really shone a spotlight on it. I'm wondering if anyone here knows more about the local efforts to tighten regulations and why they weren't effectively stopping these races before. Was it a lack of resources or something else? It breaks my heart to think that it took such a devastating loss for changes to be taken seriously. My thoughts go out to Kamari’s family and friends. It's unimaginable what they must be going through, and I hope they find some peace in knowing actions are starting to be taken to prevent this from happening again.
