Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Earnest Tremaine Porter-Smith, and something that's been on my mind is the location where it happened. 2nd Avenue South is usually a busy area, right? I'm curious if anyone knows about any businesses nearby or if there were potential witnesses who might have seen or heard something around 6:36 p.m. on August 25, 2021. Could CCTV footage be a factor here? It just feels like it's such a public place for something so tragic to occur unnoticed. If there’s anyone here from the Birmingham area, do you know if the community has been rallying for more safety measures in that part of town? It’s difficult to think about how this might affect the sense of security for Earnest’s loved ones and the locals. Hoping for justice and peace for everyone touched by this terrible event.
I've been following the case of Earnest Tremaine Porter-Smith, and something that stood out to me is the sheer number of prior investigations Birmingham has had this year alone. It's baffling and truly concerning that this is the 66th murder investigation of 2021, not even counting justifiable deaths. My heart aches for everyone affected by this senseless violence. What is going on in our community that so many lives are being lost like this? I hope that Earnest's family finds some peace and that justice is served for him. It's so sad to see another life cut short, and we really need to address the root causes behind these tragedies. What do you all think could help improve the situation and prevent future incidents like this?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been closely following the case of Earnest Tremaine Porter-Smith, and it's just so overwhelming to think about what his family and friends are going through. What stood out to me recently was the impact of bystander intervention. Apparently, some witnesses were nearby during the incident on 2nd Avenue.
It led me to think: what could be done to prevent such tragedies? Could a quicker response from those nearby have made a difference, or would it have endangered more people? It's not to point fingers, but more to understand how community awareness and involvement play a role in these situations.
To any of those who might know more about this incident, were there efforts to intervene or call for help sooner? My thoughts go out to Earnest's loved ones during this time. It's important that we all learn from these events, not just to seek justice but to foster safer communities in his memory.
Stay safe, everyone.
