I wanted to bring up something that's been on my mind regarding the tragic case of Perry Lee Mixon. I've been thinking about his sister, Lora Gunn, and the heartbreak she must be going through. To speak to someone just moments before such an awful event and then to receive the worst news possible... it's unimaginable. Her description of Perry as a non-confrontational man just trying to go about his day really stuck with me. It makes me wonder about the safety of the Kingston neighborhood and what steps can be taken to ensure this doesn't happen again. As a community, how can we come together to make our neighborhoods safer?
I hope we see some leads soon, not only for Perry's family to find peace but also to bring awareness to the broader issues of violence plaguing our communities.
