I just can't get over how much potential was lost with Mikel Cooper's passing. Everyone in the community seems to remember him as this incredibly promising young man. I read that he had big dreams, possibly involving college and making a real difference. It's just devastating to think about dreams interrupted so abruptly. Beyond the investigation or the hunt for the suspect, this is a time to reflect on how we support our youth. We need effective ways to offer guidance and resources for young people to feel safe and valued. It's not just a police issue—it's a community responsibility. Mikel's story deserves more than justice; it deserves action to prevent future tragedies. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who have to live with this unimaginable loss every day.
