Hey everyone,
I've been really curious about the search efforts around the San Jacinto River after the unfortunate incident with the capsized boat. Does anyone have any insights on how the local authorities are handling water rescues in such tricky conditions? It sounds like the weather was already making things difficult with the storm and rough water. I'm wondering if there's been any mention of using sonar equipment or if they're relying more on ground patrolling and aerial searches given the challenging circumstances.
Also, hearing that the missing person wasn't wearing a lifejacket is really concerning. It just makes you think twice about how important those safety measures are, especially when conditions can be unpredictable out there. Would love to hear any updates or thoughts from folks who might be familiar with search and rescue adaptations for these kinds of situations.
Stay safe out there.
Does anyone know if the San Jacinto River area has a strong current typically, or was this mainly due to the storm that was coming in? I'm curious because if it’s usually calm, it might mean the boat could have stayed upright if not for the storm conditions. I know he wasn't wearing a lifejacket, which is worrying, but I'm wondering if the current played a much bigger role than everyone thinks. Has anyone here familiar with that area seen similar incidents happen there?
