I've been thinking a lot about Derrick Pelt and the circumstances that led to his untimely death. I can't stop wondering about the neighborhood where it happened. Is Second Street West known for being dangerous, or was this out of the ordinary for that area? I feel for Derrick's family and wouldn't blame them if they're struggling to make sense of how something like this could even happen. We can only hope that the investigation is thorough, and anyone who knows something comes forward. It's got to be so heavy for them to deal with this loss, and the more information that comes out, the better.
