Hey everyone, I've been digging into the Dennis Oscar Lingaas case recently, and something keeps bothering me about the location where his remains were found. Being a remote area near Forest Service Road 695 and County Road 96, it doesn't seem like the kind of place someone would just randomly end up. It feels deliberate, which makes me wonder if this was someone familiar with that area.
I've read that his abandoning of the 1973 Buick there points to something more intentional rather than a spur-of-the-moment decision. Could the person responsible have known the area well enough to think it wouldn't be frequented often? Maybe they assumed it would take longer for the remains to be discovered?
My heart goes out to Dennis’s family and friends—it must be incredibly difficult not having answers after all this time. If anyone has thoughts on the significance of the location or knows more about that area in Jefferson County, I'd love to hear what you think. Investigators need all the help they can get to bring some peace to those who knew Dennis.
