I was thinking today about how much Jovane's roles in mentorship programs might have impacted younger kids at St. Gabriel's. Mentors like him can really shape lives, and I bet he was such a positive influence on the younger students. The connection he had with those he mentored seems like it would have left a deep imprint. It's gut-wrenching to think about the ripple effect his absence has on the people he mentored and the potential change they might have gone on to create with his guidance. I can't imagine how those kids must feel losing someone they looked up to so much. The community truly lost a bright light far too soon. We need more mentors like Javane to step forward to continue the work he started, even though no one can ever replace him.
