I’ve been following the case of Dimontrell Pompey, and my heart truly goes out to his family and friends who have to live with this senseless tragedy. One thing that’s been on my mind is the role of the community in healing after such violence. Milwaukee has seen too many young lives cut short, and the ripple effects are devastating. It feels like everyone is holding their breath, waiting for justice to be served. There’s been some talk around the neighborhood about the tension this has stirred up. I really hope the community leaders can step up to foster conversations that might prevent future tragedies like this one.
