Has anyone else found it troubling how no leads have come up after all these years regarding the supposed robbery angle? Considering that the money was missing from their filling station, you'd think someone would have noticed something suspicious or that there might have been rumors floating around. It's baffling that nothing concrete ever came out of what seems to be a pretty big piece of the puzzle. I often wonder if anyone connected to the station or even someone who was familiar with their routines might have been involved. My heart goes out to the family—they deserve answers and closure after such a long time. Just hoping something new surfaces soon, especially with all the advancements in technology.
Hey everyone,
I've been diving into the Whittemore case from '68, and something that struck me was the location where the bodies were found. Fire Hill Road seems pretty secluded, especially back then. It makes me wonder if the murderer was someone who knew the area well. Could it have been someone local or someone familiar with their routine, especially considering they owned the filling station? Sometimes, the simplest details, like choosing a remote location, can reveal a lot about the murderer’s knowledge and behavior.
I can't even begin to imagine the pain that the Whittemore family has had to endure all these years without answers. I truly hope that renewed interest and modern investigative techniques can finally bring some closure and justice for them.
Has anyone read about any ongoing efforts or projects analyzing cold cases in Vermont? It seems like a concerted push in that direction could really make a difference.
