Angelo "Andy" Puglisi, a 10-year-old boy from Lawrence, Massachusetts, was last seen on August 21, 1976, at the Higgins Memorial Swimming Pool, which was just 100 yards from his home in the Stadium Housing Projects. On that day, Andy had spent time with friends at the pool, and he last spoke to his family around 3:30 p.m., giving no indication that anything was wrong. His final sighting was reported at 5:45 p.m., when a lifeguard saw him walking around the pool area.
He never returned home, and his disappearance quickly raised concerns.
Initial speculation suggested that Andy might have run away due to his parents' divorce, but this theory was soon dismissed, and foul play became the focus of the investigation.
