I find the twists in Michael Durenleau's case particularly unsettling. It's hard to fathom how someone could orchestrate such a heinous act against their own spouse. Thinking about the moments leading up to the attack makes it all the more chilling—Michael probably thought he was heading home after a night out with Rebecca, and then everything changed in an instant. The betrayal must have cut deeper than the physical attack itself. It makes me wonder about the conversations Rebecca might have had with Harmon Olmstead in the days leading up to that night. Did they ever think about the pain it would cause not just to Michael, but to their own lives as well? I hope that justice being served now brings some peace to Michael's family and friends who have been carrying this burden for so long. Such painful deceptions remind us how complex human relationships can be and the lengths some will go to serve their own interests.

Has anyone else looked into the strange behavior of Rebecca Durenleau in the weeks leading up to Michael's murder? I remember reading that she had started acting very differently, which some of Michael's friends later said seemed odd at the time. It was a subtle shift, but becomes more chilling in hindsight knowing what we know now. It makes me wonder about the dynamics of deception in close relationships and how someone could reach the point of plotting against their own spouse. I can't imagine the confusion and pain Michael's family must have felt, first losing him so tragically and then learning that Rebecca played such a role. It just reiterates how difficult it is to really know someone's heart. Have any of you come across more details about her actions before July 12th, 1985?
