Has anyone else found anything about Richard Fitzgerald's account from the night Cheryl was murdered? It's always seemed a bit puzzling to me. I know he called the police immediately after discovering her, but I can't help but wonder about his actions earlier that evening. Was he at home all night, or did he go out? Is there any information about his alibi for the hours leading up to the murder? It’s tough imagining what he went through finding Cheryl like that, but at the same time, every detail in this case could be a piece of the puzzle. Just curious if anyone else has dug into this aspect in more depth. Thoughts?

The arrest of Carroll Peters in 2024 is a huge development, but I can't help but feel for the family and friends who have had to live with this uncertainty for so long. It's unimaginable what Cheryl's loved ones have endured over these past three decades. I was particularly struck by the detail of the man carrying a large bag on the night of Cheryl's murder. It's baffling that this lead didn’t result in more concrete evidence at the time. I'm curious if any new forensic advancements have helped in re-evaluating this evidence, leading to Carroll's arrest. It must have taken a toll on everyone involved, especially considering how suspicion hovered over Carroll for years without any solid action. How is everyone close to Cheryl coping with these recent developments? I hope this brings them closer to getting the justice she deserves.
