Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the Juan Gutierrez case for a while, and something that's been on my mind is the community response—or rather, the lack of it initially. From what I understand, there was a real struggle for the investigators to get witness statements early on. It’s just so frustrating because you’d think more people would come forward to help solve something so serious, especially when it's a life that was lost.
I know there can be a lot of fear or distrust of law enforcement in some communities, but it’s so upsetting to think about how that delay might have affected the case. Maybe things could've moved faster if more folks had felt safe sharing what they knew back then. It’s a bittersweet relief that Crime Stoppers got involved, but it must have been incredibly tough for Juan's family and friends in those years without answers.
Has anyone else here felt this way about other cases too? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
