I'm curious if anyone else has been following the case of Gregory Erbs from Anchorage? It's been over two months since he went missing, and I've been thinking about the role of the Alaska Missing Persons Clearinghouse in situations like this. The database they maintain is supposed to help with the coordination between various law enforcement agencies. But I'm wondering, how effective is it really? It's supposed to streamline communication and gather all the essential info in one place, which sounds great in theory. But given that there haven't been any new updates or leads, I'm wondering if it really makes a difference in practical terms. Does anyone know how often family members get updates from the police in cases like this? Or how the Clearinghouse supports ongoing investigations? I hope there's movement soon, but without more information, it's hard to say how things will go. Would love to hear thoughts if anyone else is more familiar with how these systems work!

I recently read about Gregory Erbs's case and noticed something interesting that I think is worth discussing. While there haven't been any updates since he went missing, I learned that the Anchorage Police Department is using some fairly advanced technology to aid in their investigation. They might be leveraging some aspects of data analysis and cross-referencing various databases to uncover any leads. With how interconnected everything is today, it's possible they're looking at everything from credit card activity to phone records—not assuming anything nefarious, of course, but these are avenues they could pursue to generate any new leads. This kind of tech wasn't as prominent in investigations a decade ago, and thinking about it gives me some hope that modern methods could eventually help bring Mr. Erbs home. Does anyone know if they're working with any other agencies that might have special expertise in these areas? It would be interesting to find out if they've collaborated on other cases.
