I’ve been reading about the tragic case of Cheryl and Philip Beadles and stumbled upon an intriguing detail: their possible connection to the swinging community. It makes me wonder how much this aspect might have complicated the investigation. Back in the '70s, societal attitudes were pretty different, and I can't help but think about how stigma or bias might have influenced how leads were followed, or perhaps not followed. It’s awful to think that judgments about their lifestyle might have detracted from the pursuit of justice. My heart goes out to Philip’s kids, who lived through this horror and continue to seek answers. I hope with changes in social attitudes and renewed investigative techniques, the truth comes to light one day. Anyone else think that exploring old prejudices around their lifestyle might open up new perspectives on this case?
