In the quiet community of Fairview, Oregon, a sense of unease settled after a 38-year-old male, Roman Shulishov, was found deceased near his home. The tragic chain of events began on the night of Saturday, February 22, 2025, when Shulishov's wife reported him missing. She told authorities that her husband had left their residence near Northeast 211th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. and had not come back.
The search for Shulishov ended in heartbreak the following afternoon.
On Sunday, February 23, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Shulishov's body was discovered in the vicinity of his home. The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team were dispatched to the scene and immediately launched a homicide investigation. Detectives at the scene determined that Shulishov had been shot. This finding was later officially confirmed by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office, which ruled his death a homicide as a result of gunfire.
As the investigation progressed, authorities worked to piece together the circumstances leading to Shulishov's death. The community was assured that there was no known danger to the public while detectives continued to gather evidence. Their efforts led to a significant development in the case just days later.
