I was thinking about the Ortiz case and the challenges the Houston PD have had with it. It must be incredibly frustrating for Bernavel's family to know that after all these years, there still aren't any solid leads or arrests. I can't even imagine what it's like to go through that kind of ordeal with so few answers. But I do find it interesting that they're leveraging new forensic technology now. It gives me hope that maybe something will finally break and bring clarity to what really happened that day. It says a lot about the dedication of the officers to revisiting evidence and reengaging witnesses after such a long time. I truly hope that someone who knows something will come forward; there's nothing worse for the family than not knowing why and who is responsible. These advancements could be the key to finally finding justice for Bernavel. Keep spreading the word, folks—maybe it’ll reach the right ears.
