I’ve been really troubled by the case of Tomas Gonzalez-Canil. It’s just so tragic to think about how an ordinary night of grabbing take-out for his family turned into such a nightmare. It sounds like he was a loving husband and a hardworking member of the community. What gets me, though, is the lack of a clear motive. Why would someone do this to a person just trying to get home to his family? I keep thinking about his wife, rushing outside and finding him there… I can't even imagine the shock and pain she must have felt. It's so devastating that the suspect hasn't been caught yet. The fact that there's a description and sketch of the suspect out there is a bit of hope, though. I really hope someone with information comes forward—it could make all the difference in helping bring closure to his family. I've seen communities come together in other cases to help solve them, so I’m holding onto hope that people in Houston will rally around this one, too. If anyone out there knows something, anything, no matter how small it seems, please contact the authorities. Gonzalez-Canil’s family deserves justice, and I believe it’s still possible. Let's all keep this case in mind and continue to share what we know.
