Anyone here involved with or knowledgeable about the local SAR teams? I'm curious about how they coordinate their efforts in cases like Robbie's. From what I understand, they work in tandem with the sheriff’s office, but I'm interested in the actual logistics of their operations. Do they primarily rely on tips from the public, or do they have specific strategies they follow during these searches?
I've also read that they utilize various methods, which seems intense given the challenging terrains around Santa Cruz. I feel like sometimes we underestimate the physical dedication and expertise these volunteers bring to each search mission. If anyone has experience or insight into how they operate, especially in cases involving older adults going missing, please share. I'd love to better understand how these searches unfold on the ground.
I was reading through some updates on the search for Robbie in Santa Cruz and found myself really impressed with the dedication of the SAR team there. I had no idea they were volunteers on call around the clock. It’s amazing to see a community pull together like this to help find missing persons. I wonder if they have a wishlist or something for equipment or supplies that the community could contribute to? It’s so important to support those who tirelessly give their time and effort, especially considering how crucial their role is in situations like this. Anyone here have experience with SAR teams or know more about how we can help support them?
