Hey everyone, I'm really concerned about Kagen Collins, the 17-year-old from Largo who's been missing since October 12th. What's been on my mind is the "Purple Alert" that was issued for him. I didn't even know this was a thing before Kagen's case. Apparently, it's specifically for individuals who have cognitive or developmental disabilities who go missing. I think it's such an important tool, especially since these individuals might be more vulnerable or unable to communicate effectively when they're in an unfamiliar situation. It says a lot about the uniqueness of each missing person case and the different approaches needed to handle them.
