I recently came across the case of Paul Patkotak, and I'm thinking a lot about how critical it is for us all to step up when vulnerable community members go missing. The fact that Paul hasn't been heard from for weeks before his disappearance raises some red flags for me. It makes me wonder if there were signs or red flags leading up to this that were missed or overlooked.
With him living in an assisted facility, I can't help but consider how these places monitor residents’ movements and maintain communication with family. Did anyone notice anything unusual or was Paul seeming more distant than usual prior to leaving? I'm hoping there's a system in place if someone like Paul ventures out and doesn't return at the expected time.
If anyone in the Anchorage area saw Paul walking around on August 23rd in his blue jacket and black pants or has memories that might help, even if they seem small, please reach out to local authorities. If we all stay observant and report little things, it could make a big difference. Keep spreading the word, folks!
