I've always been curious about the circumstances that led to Elias Daniel Lopez's murder. It was such a senseless act of violence, and I can't help but think about the fear and confusion he must have felt in those final moments. Does anyone know if the area at University Avenue and 38th Street was known for gang activity back in '94? It seems like that possibly played a part in the confrontation.
I feel for his friend who was with him that night. They must have been deeply traumatized by what happened. I'm hoping that someday someone comes forward with information. Elias deserves justice, and his family deserves closure. Keeping his memory alive might just prompt the right person to speak up.
