Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Richard Jonathan Lackey, and I find it super puzzling how his sailboat was discovered without him. I mean, how does a guy with plans to sail just vanish like that? I’m especially baffled by the fact that the boat was found 300 miles away from Acapulco. Did anyone else read about the logs or journals found on board? Anything that sheds light on his state of mind before he disappeared could be key. Or was there nothing at all? It’s just so perplexing that there isn’t more information available. I wonder if he kept any sort of diary, maybe something that got lost. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or know of similar cases where missing sailors left any writings or clues behind?
Has anyone else looked into the weather reports around the time Richard's boat was found? I'm curious about the conditions he might have faced while sailing. I’ve been following the Richard Jonathan Lackey case for a while and something I find intriguing is the state of his sailboat when it was found. I mean, it was just drifting without a scratch, right? Usually when you hear about boats adrift, they’re damaged or something. It’s almost like he just vanished into thin air. What strikes me is how there didn’t seem to be any signs of foul play on the boat itself.
