I just can't stop thinking about how Darrius had his whole life ahead of him. He was only 25, and from what I’ve been reading, he seemed like the kind of guy who would light up any room he walked into. It’s so unfair to see another young person taken away by gun violence. Memphis has been struggling with this for too long, and it feels like every few weeks, we're hearing about another tragedy. I can't even begin to imagine the pain his family must be going through right now. I truly hope they find comfort in each other and the memories they shared with him. We really need something to change in our communities to prevent more families from going through this nightmare. Sending love to everyone affected by Darrius's death.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Darrius Small today and the wider impact of his tragic passing. I read that he was shot outside a restaurant, and it got me thinking about how these public spaces, where we all gather with friends and family, have become scenes of sadness. It's terrifying to think that a place meant for laughter and connection can turn into a site of tragedy so quickly.
For those in Memphis, do you feel like the city is doing enough in terms of community safety and support? I know gun violence isn't an easy issue to tackle, but it just feels like there should be more resources or initiatives aimed at preventing these senseless acts. It breaks my heart to think of his friends and family who have to carry this pain, knowing it could've happened to anyone.
Sending thoughts to Darrius's loved ones and hoping our community finds strength and solutions in the wake of such loss. It's time to do better—for Darrius and everyone who deserves to feel safe in their hometown.
