I can't stop thinking about how much Jerry truly meant to the local music scene here in Memphis. It's utterly devastating to see someone who was such a cornerstone of our community taken away so violently. River Records was more than just a store; it was a meeting place for music lovers, and so much of that was because of Jerry's welcoming presence. I've heard so many stories of how he'd go out of his way to help young musicians find their footing and share his extensive knowledge of the industry. It's almost surreal — walking by the shop now and realizing he won't be in there greeting us with his classic smile and a story about meeting Elvis or chatting about some rare vinyl he just got in. My thoughts are with Jerry's family and friends as they try to find peace after such an unimaginable loss. I can only hope that the authorities will bring justice to whoever committed this awful act, and that we, as a community, can find ways to keep his spirit alive through the music he loved so much. Stay safe, everyone.

Has anyone else noticed how some cases seem to get overshadowed by others? Jerry Gibson's murder really struck me, especially because it feels like it hasn't been talked about enough considering his impact on the community. A friend of mine knew him well and always shared stories about how his store was a treasure trove for music lovers, especially if you were into the classics. It's so frustrating that someone with such a warm presence could be taken away in such a senseless act. I really hope the community keeps pushing for answers so that his loved ones can have some closure. Maybe more local or even national attention could help bring those answers. Anyone else from the area feel the same way? Any ideas on how we could help keep the spotlight on this case?

I’ve been following Jerry Gibson’s case and wanted to talk about the community vigil that was held in his honor. It’s truly touching to see how many people showed up to pay their respects to someone who was such an integral part of the Memphis music scene. Jerry wasn’t just a store owner; he was a friend, a mentor, and a music enthusiast who shared his passion with everyone who walked through the doors of River Records. His connection to Elvis and the stories he shared with customers about the King must have been something truly special. It's just devastating that someone with such a love for life and music could be taken from us in such a senseless act. Seeing the community come together in his memory is a reminder of the impact he had on so many lives. I hope that the support from one another might offer some comfort to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Does anyone know if there have been any leads in the case? It seems like the investigation needs more community input.
