Has anyone else noticed the peculiar timing regarding when Carol was reported missing? I mean, her disappearance only came to light after Richard retired. It just seems bizarre that no one thought it was strange she hadn't been in touch with family or friends for a whole week. You would think someone would've raised an alarm sooner, especially given that she was such a homebody and left her purse and cat behind. It makes me wonder if certain details were intentionally overlooked back then or if people were just not asking questions. Plus, why did Richard wait so long to file for divorce? The timelines just don’t add up for me.

The thing that really sticks with me about Carol Jean Pierce's case is the fact that her beloved cat was left behind. As a fellow pet lover, I can’t imagine willingly leaving a pet behind, especially when it’s an integral part of your daily life. That's why this detail seems so telling. It contradicts the idea that she left on her own volition, along with a chunk of their savings. Was Carol planning to come back quickly, or did something dire happen that prevented her from taking the kitty with her? This just adds another layer to the mystery of her disappearance, and a poignant reminder of the things we sometimes take for granted in these cases. Curious if others see the significance of the cat being left behind or if you think it's a detail that's been overlooked through the years?
