I've been reading up on the tragic case of Thomas Howard, and I can't help but feel so much for all the families impacted by this senseless cycle of violence. It's so frustrating to think about how the "stop snitching" culture has affected these investigations. Obviously, there's a huge fear factor when it comes to witness cooperation, but you'd hope for more community support to get justice for victims like Thomas. These cases drag on for years sometimes, leaving families in limbo. It's a sad reminder of how complicated it is to combat the deeper issues at play in Pittsburgh during that time. It's got to be so difficult for his loved ones, not having closure or answers. I really hope that as time goes on, things like this become less frequent, and more people feel safe stepping forward to aid in solving these crimes. Something must shift to break this cycle. Sending my thoughts to everyone affected by the violence in Pittsburgh during those years and hoping the city sees better days ahead.

I’ve been following Thomas Howard’s case for a while, and it’s just so hard to think about how the “stop snitching” culture played such a significant role in hindering justice for him and countless others. It’s devastating for the victim's family who just want answers and closure. From what I understand, fear of retaliation is real in these communities, and it’s frustrating because it leaves so many crimes unsolved. I keep thinking about how different things might be if there was more trust and cooperation with law enforcement. It's a vicious cycle that affects so many people. You can't help but feel for everyone involved and hope that someday witnesses and neighbors feel safe enough to speak up, and families like Thomas' can get the justice they deserve.
