I've been following the James Simms case, and I can't help but reflect on the impact his death has had on the East Liberty community. It's been over a decade, and yet the pain and confusion still linger. What really strikes me is the strength of Reverend Simms. Leading a congregation through such a personal loss is just beyond imaginable. To go from bringing people spiritual guidance to needing so much himself must have been incredibly hard for him.
I wonder what James's life would have been like if things had turned out differently. He had dreams, aspirations to teach and coach. It's such a loss for both his family and the countless kids he could have inspired. Those in the community who knew him describe him as someone with a genuine passion for helping others. It's these "what ifs" that make his death even more tragic.
I hope that with the community's ongoing support, James’s children will come to know just how special their dad was and the positive impact he intended to have on the world. It’s important we keep talking about James to keep his memory alive and, hopefully, someday bring some justice and closure to his family.
Hi everyone,
I've been following the James C. Simms case, and one thing that's really been on my mind is the impact on his three kids. It's hard to even imagine how they’ve been coping without their dad. James was taken from them so suddenly and senselessly, and they’ll have to grow up without him being there to guide them. It sounds like he wanted so much to be a role model, not just to his own kids but also to students as a teacher and coach. This clearly wasn’t just a loss for his family; it was a loss for the whole community.
I hope that the family continues to find strength and support from those around them, and that James's dreams can be honored in some way, maybe through a scholarship or a community project. Sometimes, keeping a legacy alive can be a powerful way to heal and keep moving forward. Let's keep this conversation going and continue to support the Simms family in whatever ways we can.
Feel free to share any thoughts or ideas you might have.
Thanks for listening.
