Has anyone else looked into the reported sightings of Lillian in Gastonia on July 2, 2001? It's been nagging at me that those sightings were never confirmed. If someone really saw her, it might suggest she stayed in the area longer than initially thought. It seems odd she would have just vanished, especially if she rarely left Gastonia before. Could it have been a case of mistaken identity, or perhaps someone was deliberately spreading misinformation? I feel like this detail is one of those overlooked threads that might be worth pulling on, especially if the sightings align with any other local activities or seeings of her companion around the same time. If anyone has more insight or thoughts on this, would love to discuss! Would be incredible if something small led to a breakthrough after all these years.

Has anyone here heard of Lillian LaWren Nance's case out of Gastonia? I came across her story recently, and while there's so much about it that tugs at me, something I'm trying to wrap my head around is the sighting in Atlanta in 2002. You'd think that after a year, if those rumors were credible, there would have been more evidence popping up, right? It seems odd that someone could just vanish and then supposedly be seen so far from home without any solid proof. Plus, if she was really there, wouldn't more people have noticed someone new in the area, especially if she was using her nickname "Libby"? What's always baffled me is how tips like these can spark such hope and yet still result in dead ends. Anyone familiar with how these sightings sometimes pan out in other missing person cases?
