I was reading about the unsolved 2009 murder of Thomas Frye, and it truly got me thinking about the role of community involvement in solving such cases. It's frustrating to see families, like Thomas's, living without closure for so many years. Has anyone else noticed how common it is for folks to stay silent or uninvolved, especially in neighborhoods plagued by violence? I feel for the family and friends who just want some peace and justice. I understand the fear of retaliation might be a powerful deterrent, but perhaps we should discuss ways to protect witnesses and encourage more people to step forward. Community trust seems like such a vital piece of this puzzle, and yet it seems to be missing here. What do you guys think about initiatives or programs that could foster that level of safety and trust?
