I came across Daniel Joseph Marks' case and was curious about the weather conditions on Kauai on the day he disappeared. November can be tricky there, with sudden rain showers and slippery trails, especially around the Pihea Trail and the Na Pali Coast. Does anyone know if there were reports of bad weather that day? Heavy rain could've made the terrain more dangerous and might explain why he got lost or had an accident. It’s just a thought, but maybe someone with knowledge of Kauai’s weather patterns in 2005 could shed some light on this aspect?
Getting back into the Marks case and something’s been bugging me lately. I read that Daniel was an experienced hiker, which makes me wonder about the gear he had with him. Does anyone know what he was carrying for supplies? Especially considering he was planning a trip to the Na Pali Coast, which isn't exactly a casual walk. I’d assume he’d have the right equipment, but if he was really familiar with the terrain and weather, would he have packed light thinking he had it covered? Maybe he underestimated something that day. It's a long shot, but understanding his prep might give us clues about what could have gone wrong. Anyone come across info on what was found in his rental car or if any of his gear was missing?
Has anyone here looked into the weather conditions on Kauai around the time when Daniel Marks went missing? I'm curious if there were any sudden weather changes that could've affected his hike. Hawaii's weather can be unpredictable, especially in the mountainous areas like Waimea Canyon. It makes me wonder if there was heavy rain or poor visibility that day, which might've disoriented him. I've read that even experienced hikers can get caught off guard by the island's climate. It seems like a potential piece of the puzzle worth exploring. If anyone has access to historical weather data for November 2005, it could be vital to understanding what might have happened. Any thoughts?
