I’ve been following Eddie Meram's case for a while now and something that really strikes me is the continued sense of community around Doctor J's Liquor Store even after all these years. It's clear that Eddie was more than just a business owner to the residents around Logan Avenue; he was a friend to many and a staple in daily life there. I’ve read a lot about how small business owners are often vulnerable targets for crime, and this case just highlights the risks they face. It's so concerning that, even with surveillance footage, these criminals haven’t been caught. It makes me wonder about the challenges investigators face when dealing with cases like this, especially ones that cross jurisdictional lines or involve organized crime elements. I’m hoping, like many others, that new developments in forensic technology might offer some breakthroughs in identifying these perpetrators. With community and law enforcement continuing their efforts, I cling to the hope that Eddie’s family and the local community will one day see justice served. If anyone has any more insight on how cases like these are generally solved, or if there are success stories out there, I’d love to hear about them. It might strengthen community resolve and remind us all that while forgotten by time, victims like Eddie are never forgotten by those who knew and loved them.
