Has anyone ever looked into the financial aspect of Claude and Sue Shelton's disappearance? I find it curious that they took $600 with them, which was a decent amount of money back in 1971. Was there any indication that they might have had financial problems or possibly owed money to someone? I wonder if this could provide a new lead or at least some understanding of what their intentions might have been when they left that night. It's hard to reconcile their disappearance with the fact that they left their kids behind, especially if they were leaving intentionally. Does anyone else have insight into their financial situation or if it was explored deeply during the initial investigation?

I'm really intrigued by the Shelton case and wanted to dive into a specific detail that's been bugging me. How exactly did they get the $600 in cash? For 1971, that was quite a bit of money—especially for a couple living in a trailer park. Did they save it over time, or did someone loan it to them? Could it maybe point to a planned run or some kind of financial trouble? I feel like understanding more about the source of that money might shed some light on their intentions that night. Anyone else have thoughts or info on this angle? It's baffling how a whole family could just vanish without a trace.

I've been going down the rabbit hole of missing persons cases, and the one about Claude and Martha Sue Shelton has really caught my attention. I'm fascinated by the fact that their car—a white 1967 Ford Galaxie 500—is also nowhere to be found. Some disappearances have a trace like personal items or cars found abandoned, but here we have nothing. It makes me wonder if their car could have ended up somewhere off the beaten path, maybe even submerged in a body of water that’s not visible from common routes. Considering the terrain around Corbin, Kentucky, does anyone know if there are bodies of water or secluded areas near that they might have accidentally driven into? It's just strange to think that a whole vehicle could just vanish without someone spotting something. Would love to hear thoughts or info from anyone familiar with the local geography!
