Hey everyone, I was reading up on Martha Shelton's case from 1971, and I stumbled into something interesting I hadn't seen discussed much in other forums or articles. Apparently, during the initial investigation, there was a sighting reported by several locals around Corbin who claimed to have seen a woman matching Martha's description near a bus station a couple of days after she vanished. It's puzzling because if it was her, it seems like a huge lead that didn't go anywhere. Were there any efforts to trace where she might have been headed, or were there any follow-up interviews with those witnesses? I feel like this could have opened up more investigative avenues at the time. Just goes to show how sometimes key details might get overshadowed or lost over time. If anyone has more info or insight into this, I'd love to hear more!
Does anyone else find it perplexing that despite Martha Shelton's vibrant presence in Corbin, no one recalls seeing her the day she vanished back in 1971? It's such a small town, you'd think someone would've noticed something. I wonder if the investigation ever thoroughly explored her movements leading up to that day. Local businesses and acquaintances might hold untapped insights or details that seemed minor at the time but could now shine new light on this case. Or maybe there's someone out there with knowledge but unsure or afraid to come forward, even after all these years. Perhaps combing through old records or refreshing public memory might reveal overlooked information. If anyone has ideas on how to support her family in reigniting interest around this cold case, don't hesitate to share. Martha's story, like many others, deserves a proper resolution.
