Hey everyone,
I've been diving into old cases and recently stumbled across the mysterious disappearance of Gabriel Anthony Caporino from 1974. What's really baffling to me is the angle with his credit card being used by those three "hippie types" at a Sears store just days after he went missing. How did they get hold of his card? Were they responsible, or just opportunists who found it somewhere?
It makes me wonder about the leads the investigators had at the time. Did they manage to figure out anything significant from the Sears purchases or surveillance (if any existed back then)? I feel like this is a thread that could unravel something if it was pulled on more intensely. Also, with the car being abandoned and wiped clean, it seems a bit too meticulous, right? Someone went through a lot of trouble to cover their tracks.
Would love to hear anyone else's theories or insights, especially if you know more about the investigation techniques used back then or if there's any chance advancements in tech could help crack something now.
Thanks for any thoughts or additional info!

Has anyone else been intrigued by the detail about the car being found with the keys left in the door? It seems really odd to me. I mean, who just leaves the keys like that? It's almost as if someone wanted the car to be taken but not implicated in actually stealing it. The fact that it was also wiped clean of fingerprints makes me wonder if the car was part of a cover-up. It's strange that it sat there untouched for ten days, too. In a busy place like New Orleans, that seems unlikely, unless maybe it wasn't there the whole time. Could it have been moved and then put back closer to when it was discovered? Just throwing some thoughts out there—interested to hear what others think!
