Has anyone looked into the car that Jimmy C. Long got into? It was supposedly a light brown, late model Ford with a vinyl top. Could this detail about the vehicle be key? If any locals from around Calhoun still remember seeing that particular car, it might help track down where it went after leaving the truck stop. By now, the car might be long gone, but any historical records of similar vehicles involved in crimes or accidents from around that time could offer clues. It’s a long shot, but maybe someone kept a note or a report. What do you all think about following up on vehicle records from that era?
It's baffling to me how Jimmy C. Long's disappearance has gone this long without any resolution. One angle I've always wondered about is the identity of those two white males he was last seen with. Was there any follow-up on the truck itself, like looking into registration records or searching for similar vehicles in the area at that time? Even if it was just a light brown Ford with a vinyl top, it seems like there might've been something there to follow up on. Vehicles can change hands, but if they were locals or had connections to Calhoun, that could’ve been a lead. Anyone have any more info on whether this aspect was pursued by the investigators? It just seems like there might be something there that could open up additional avenues for solving this case.
Has anyone else been curious about the two unidentified men seen with Jimmy C. Long? The details on them seem so sparse, and it makes me wonder if there's a connection to other disappearances around that time. Maybe they were drifters or locals who were just passing through Calhoun. If anyone knows of any similar cases involving unidentified companions, it could be a lead worth looking into. Also, has anyone checked old newspapers or truck stop records from '79 for any incidents or accidents that could point us in a new direction? Every little clue might help piece this puzzle together.
