Hi everyone,
I've been diving deep into Richard Ray Barnett's disappearance and was looking for more insight on something that's been on my mind. What do you all think about the possibility of Richard wandering off on his own? I mean, it was a busy farm with lots going on. Given his age, could he have maybe followed something small like a farm animal or something shiny that caught his eye? I know children his age are incredibly curious and spontaneous.
I’m sure back then the farm wouldn't have been completely fenced, and the scent leading to a fence line makes me wonder if something distracted him, and he managed to slip through a gap. It feels like an angle that might not have been fully explored given the focus on more sinister theories. What do you all think? Could it have been an accident possibly overlooked in all the chaos?
Would love to hear your thoughts and any details I might be missing!
Thanks!
Did anyone else find the theory about Richard being placed in an underground adoption network intriguing? I came across some old articles about such networks being active in the 1980s, especially in rural areas. With the grandparents being suspects for so long, it's hard not to wonder if there’s some truth to it. If the family had any connections or grievances, it might have been easier to hand him over to these networks than we'd think. I know it's just one of many theories, but has anyone come across more information on these groups operating in Idaho around that time? Could explain why there's no trace of Richard even after all these years.
Have you guys ever considered the farm workers' perspective in Richard's case? With dozens of workers present at the farm, it's hard to imagine someone wouldn't have noticed anything suspicious if an abduction had occurred. I grew up on a farm, and trust me, while it seems chaotic, people usually know what's going on around them. It's odd that none of the workers reported seeing anything unusual during those crucial 15 minutes when Richard disappeared.
Also, I'm curious about any records the farm kept regarding the employees. Did they ever cross-reference the employees' backgrounds or look into anyone who might have suddenly left the area after the disappearance? I know there's no hard evidence pointing to the workers, but it seems like a logical angle to pursue given the situation. What do you guys think? Could there be more to explore with the people who worked there?
