Has anyone looked into whether Ratchford had any connections to local shelters or soup kitchens? It's so strange that he left with almost nothing but his wedding ring. As a former priest, he might have felt a pull towards community service or helping those in need, even if he was struggling personally. If he wanted to disappear without a trace, maybe he sought out a place where he could still make a difference without being recognized. It's a long shot, but maybe someone from those circles would remember seeing him or have any info? I just feel like there's a clue in his character that's being overlooked here.
Has anyone else been following the Ratchford case? Something that's been nagging at me: why would he take his wedding ring if he intended to disappear or harm himself? It seems like such a personal and deliberate choice. Also, being a former priest, he must have had a strong connection to his faith, making the idea of suicide even more puzzling given his beliefs. Could the ring have been a message, or a token of hope for eventual return? Or does it point to someone around him having more of a role in his disappearance? It’s such a cold case, but this particular detail always stood out to me as potentially significant. Curious what others think!
