Does anyone else find it odd that Donald Groomes claimed Ada drove their mobile home to join a cult? I mean, it's a pretty elaborate excuse if you ask me. It makes me think he might have known more than he let on. Why Tampa, Florida, of all places? Was there any connection to that area, or did he just pick a location out of thin air hoping the story would stick? The fact that the mobile home was found abandoned there makes this even more suspicious. Has anyone dug into any potential cults that were active around Tampa in the late 80s? Maybe there's a clue there that might have been overlooked. Just seems like an odd direction to take his story, especially when they were in the middle of a messy divorce. Thoughts?

I’ve been following Ada Jane Groomes’ case, and something’s been bugging me for a while. What exactly was up with Donald's claim about her joining a cult? It's such a strange thing to say, especially since the mobile home was found all the way in Tampa. Why Tampa? Did they have any connections there? I haven’t come across any info about Ada having ties to Florida or any cults. Could Donald have mentioned that as a cover for something else? I mean, it's such a specific detail but feels so odd given what we know. Does anyone have ideas or details on whether police ever looked into these claims more deeply back then?

Isn't it curious how the mobile home was found all the way in Tampa, but there's not a single clue about Ada herself? I find it hard to believe that someone could drive such a massive vehicle unnoticed. Someone must have seen something. Plus, if Donald's claim about Ada joining a cult was true, why leave the mobile home? The fact that she was declared legally dead but nothing was linked back to Donald despite the tense divorce and prior abuse accusations is perplexing. It makes you wonder what kind of evidence might exist that hasn't come to light or was perhaps overlooked. This case has so many layers, and it’s frustrating how it seems to have stalled for decades. Anyone else think there's more to be uncovered from those early days of the investigation?
