Does anyone else feel like something needs to change in how these investigations are handled? It's absolutely devastating that someone like Donald Harris Jr. could be gunned down so senselessly, and years later, there's still no justice. I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through as they wait with seemingly no answers. The fact that these incidents often remain unsolved is really concerning. We all know gun violence isn't just a problem in the Hill District or even Pittsburgh; it's everywhere. But the lack of closure for these families is just cruel. It makes me wonder about the resources given to these investigations and whether there should be more community-based efforts to help solve these cases. And what about the bigger picture? Young Black men are disproportionately affected by gun violence. We see this in far too many cities. There needs to be a stronger effort to tackle the root causes, whether it's through more jobs, better education, mentoring, or just a platform where they feel heard and valued. It's about time we stop seeing these tragedies as just numbers and start seeing them as losses of precious lives with futures stolen away.

Every time I read about Donald Harris Jr.'s case, my heart goes out to his family and friends who are still waiting for answers. It's so frustrating and saddening that another young life was taken away in such a tragic manner and still no justice or closure is in sight for his family. I keep thinking about how dangerous it must feel for residents in the Hill District, where violence seems to be a part of everyday life. It’s scary to think that someone can be attacked in what should be a safe space like a neighborhood street. The fact that there have been no significant leads or arrests in the case only adds to the community’s anxiety. I wonder about the environment these young men grow up in and the lack of security they must feel. The unsolved nature of Donald's case, like so many others, must make people in the community feel like they’re on their own, without support or protection. What can we do to help reduce the gun violence and help bring closure for families seeking justice? Perhaps more community initiatives or support for local law enforcement could make a difference. My thoughts and prayers remain with the families affected by this violence.
