I've been following the James Williams case, and I'm really troubled by how many people seem to brush it aside as just another statistic in that violent month of October 2015 in Philly. It's so easy to get lost in the numbers, but we can't forget that James was a real person with a family and friends who love him. I live a few blocks from North Fairhill Street, and it's chilling to think this happened so close to home. I remember that afternoon—it was a bit warmer than usual, and everything seemed so normal until the news broke about the shooting. It's unsettling that no suspects have been brought in yet. I keep thinking about how difficult it must be for his family not to have answers, and how it has to multiply the pain they feel every day. I really want to urge anyone who might know something, even if it seems small, to speak up. It might be the piece that helps investigators finally figure this out. We owe it to James and his family to keep his memory alive and to push for justice in any way we can.
