I came across an interesting detail in Trudy Appleby’s case that’s been bothering me. On the day she disappeared, Trudy had packed a swimsuit and towel but left behind $200 she’d saved for an upcoming vacation. To me, this seems like a strong indication she wasn’t planning on being away for long. If she was indeed going swimming, it seems odd she’d leave such a significant amount of money behind. What do you all think? Could she have been lured with the promise of a quick outing, unaware of any ill intentions? The fact that she didn’t take her money suggests she trusted the person she left with, right? It feels like such a critical point that could hint at her state of mind or plans that morning. Would love to hear other perspectives on this.
