I've always been intrigued by the case of James Scavone. His disappearance while on the Carnival cruise ship *Destiny* has so many curious angles to consider. I recently stumbled upon some discussions regarding the ship's layout and the possibility of camera coverage back in 1999. From what I gather, cruise security systems weren’t as advanced back then as they are now. A few folks are speculating if there were even cameras in the areas around the disco or hallways leading to the cabins. If there were, did they capture any footage, and what did they show? I wonder if the reel has been kept or if it was ever reviewed closely at the time by authorities. It's another piece of the puzzle that could either be crucial or a complete dead end, but definitely puzzling enough to be worth a thought.

Has anyone dug deeper into the protocols Carnival used back in '99 regarding missing persons? I mean, it's always baffled me how someone could just vanish from a ship like that. The Destiny was massive, and with so many crew members and passengers, it feels like someone might have seen something more. I've read that cruise lines have come a long way in terms of safety and surveillance since then, but it makes me wonder if there were gaps back then that could explain why no concrete answers surfaced. It's so frustrating, thinking about the family still not having closure because of potential oversights. Would love to know if anyone's come across old articles or witness accounts from that time. It's always the smallest details that can turn things around in these baffling cases.

Hi everyone, I've been following the case of James Scavone for a while now, and something that's always puzzled me is the layout of the *Destiny* and how easy it might be for someone to get disoriented on such a large ship, especially late at night. From what I understand, cruise ships can be quite confusing to navigate, especially for first-timers. Does anyone know if the *Destiny* was equipped with adequate signage or staff presence back in 1999 to help guide passengers safely to their cabins? I wonder if James could have gotten turned around somewhere between the disco and his cabin, leading to a tragic misstep, especially if he was feeling unwell. Has anyone here with cruise ship experience noticed how layout or signage has evolved over the years? It's just a sad thought to think that something as simple as clearer directions could have possibly made a difference in what happened that night. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
