While thinking about Basil Bellinger today, I'm reminded of how pivotal community cooperation is in solving cases like his. It seems like a daunting task in areas where fear and mistrust run deep, but every little bit helps. It's hard to imagine what his family must be going through, knowing that their loved one's story is unfinished. I read that witness participation is low due to safety concerns, which makes it even more important for us to support efforts that build trust between the community and law enforcement. We can't expect things to improve if we're not willing to come together and work on strengthening these relationships. My heart goes out to Basil's family and friends—they deserve answers and peace.
