I've been reading about Joshua Bryan Smith's case, and something keeps bugging me about his truck. It was found parked at The Lodge at Ponte Vedra Beach with his wallet and cash inside but no keys. I'm curious if anyone has any theories about why the truck would be locked like that. Could it be a sign that he intended to come back or wanted to make sure no one else could drive it away? It's also strange that his sneakers were found on the beach but no trail afterward. I wonder if there's been any follow-up on the beach area itself — tides, currents, or even if his keys were ever found. It's all so puzzling, and I hope we can come up with more ideas to piece together what might've happened. Thoughts?
I recently stumbled upon Joshua Bryan Smith's case and have been contemplating the significance of the scent trail that the search dogs picked up. It’s quite puzzling how his trail just stopped suddenly after half a mile down the beach without any further clues. It makes me wonder if there was some sort of external interference at that point—like maybe someone picking him up in a vehicle? The fact that his sneakers were left on the beach is unusual too. It almost feels like he was planning to get into the water, but then why would he leave his shoes behind? I can't shake the feeling there’s something crucial we're missing related to that section of the beach.
Has anyone looked into possible sightings around that area or any unusual activity during that time frame? Local beachgoers, late-night joggers, maybe someone saw something that didn’t seem important at the time? Also, I’m curious if there were any other cases of people going missing in a similar manner around the coastal regions of Florida back then. Just thinking aloud here, but perhaps there’s a connection we’re overlooking. Thoughts?
