Does anyone remember the guy with the flyers in Salt Lake City back in 2001? I think about Harold William Galvis every once in a while and it makes me sad. I recall seeing those posters everywhere—at the grocery store, in coffee shops, even at bus stops. He had such a kind face, even in just a photo. It’s baffling how someone could just vanish without a trace like that. Did anyone around here have any interactions with him before he disappeared? From what I understand, he was pretty active in the community despite the language barrier. Still curious about what happened to him that day and hoping there's someone out there with more info.
Has anyone looked into the possibility that Harold might have been trying to reach someone from the Venezuelan or Argentinean communities in Salt Lake City before he disappeared? These communities can sometimes be pretty tight-knit, and they might have some insight or remember seeing him around that time. I know his English was limited, so if he was trying to connect with someone who speaks Spanish, it could be worth exploring. With his mental health situation and being off his meds, he might have sought comfort or familiarity. Maybe reaching out to churches or cultural groups in the area could provide some leads. Just a thought!
